Granite countertop from a recent Obsidian Stone install

Quarried stone. No two slabs alike.

Look
Flecks, grain and movement from the quarry. Every slab is one of a kind.
Durability
Very hard, takes heat, stands up to outdoor sun.
Care
Seal it periodically. Wipe with mild soap and water.
Best for
Busy family kitchens and outdoor kitchens.
Granite countertops
Quartz countertop from a recent Obsidian Stone install

Engineered stone. Consistent and low care.

Look
Even color and pattern, from solid white to bold veining.
Durability
Nonporous and stain resistant. Use a trivet under hot pans.
Care
No sealing needed. Soap and water is enough.
Best for
Kitchens and baths where you want easy upkeep.
Quartz countertops
Marble countertop from a recent Obsidian Stone install

The classic. Soft veining, real depth.

Look
Soft veins and a glow that no other stone quite matches.
Durability
Softer than granite. Acids like lemon and vinegar can etch it.
Care
Seal it and wipe spills fast. It wears in with age.
Best for
Bathrooms, baking stations and statement islands.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. Send us your info or call, and we'll set up a time to talk through your project and give you a quote. No cost, no obligation.

What affects the price of new countertops?

The stone you choose, the size of the layout, the edge profile, the number of cutouts, any backsplash and whether old tops need to come out. We'll give you a clear number at your estimate.

Granite, quartz or marble?

Granite is natural, unique and takes heat. Quartz is engineered, consistent and never needs sealing. Marble is classic and soft and wears in with age. We'll help you match the stone to how you use the room.

How long does it take?

It depends on the stone and our shop schedule. We give you a real install date at the template visit. Most installs are done in a day.

Do I need to seal my countertops?

Granite and marble should be sealed from time to time. Quartz never needs it. We seal natural stone at install and tell you what your slab needs.
